Posted on 03/15/2024

Our school’s Multicultural Liaison Officer (MLO) supports newcomer students and families with settlement services, navigating the school system, language interpretation, and more.

The Multicultural Liaison Officer (MLO) program provides support in multiple languages for students and families who are newcomers and refugees. The Multicultural Liaison Officer works with school staff to welcome newcomer families and connect them with important services, resources, and supports within our school and in the local community.

Rania Baassiri is the Multicultural Liaison Officer at our school. Rania speaks Arabic and intermediate French and can also help you access support in other languages.

Rania is here to support families with:

  • Settlement services

  •  Navigating the school system

  •  Language and cultural interpretation

  •  Accessing community services

  •  Filling out school forms

  •  Parent-teacher interviews

  •  Getting involved at school, and more!

For more information, email [email protected] / [email protected] or talk to your teacher or the school office.
