Posted on 06/23/2023
Each year, the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board Student Recognition Awards celebrate excellence in student leadership. Students are chosen by their principals and vice-principals for their demonstration of initiative, supported by the will to succeed, the dedication to finish what they started, and the commitment to achieve their personal best.

Congratulations to this year’s winner from Brookfield High School, Quinn O.!

Quinn O. is a kind, caring, and inclusive student leader who truly exemplifies Brookfield High School’s motto, “Let’s Go Forward Together”! Quinn is a very active and generous person who has developed a great rapport with many teachers and students. As a leader in the school’s Eco Team, he has forged connections to help the club grow and expand their vision. He has worked with teachers to help design Eco t-shirts, collaborated with the Art teacher on the Brookfield mural, and has supported recycling projects and the battery drive. Quinn is always happy to help however he can, jumping into commitments like the daily announcements to keep the school community informed and engaged. He is also a member of the Tech Crew and was in this year’s Drama production of “Exposure”, which was selected to go to the National Theatre School Regional Drama Festival. Quinn has a zeal for life and always sees a way to make a positive change. He is very community-minded and has raised hundreds of dollars for charities like WWF Canada, The Red Panda Network, and CHEO. Quinn always aims high, whether he is excelling in his classes or raising funds for community organizations. Students, staff, and the wider community are grateful for his leadership!
