School Council

"Parent involvement leads to student success.  Parent engagement matters.  Study after study has shown us that student achievement improves when parents play an active role in their children's education, and that good schools become even better schools when parents are involved.  It is recognized that parent engagement is a key factor in the enhancement of student achievement and well-being.  Students are more likely to be motivated, to earn higher grades, have better behaviour, social skills and to continue their education to a higher level when their parents are actively engaged in supporting their success at school."

Your School Council consists of your Principal, student and teacher representatives, as well as parents/caregivers of Brookfield students.  We meet monthly in the school library.  All parents/guardians are welcome to participate in our meetings.

Our main goal as School Council is to work together to ensure the student's wellbeing as well as personal and academic success.  We also work together to improve parent involvement and to promote parent community-staff communication.

Participating in the school council meetings will provide you with a wider insight into education policy, school activities, school needs and more.

Being part of our meetings will also give parents the invaluable opportunity of interacting with your Principal.  You can receive first hand answers to your questions and/or concerns.

Welcome to the Brookfield High School Council's Website:

Your School Council meets the last Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the school library.
